Terms of Use

Clear terms for a calmer working week.

These Terms cover SmoothWeek Free, SmoothWeek Pro, local-first data with private iCloud backup, calendar conflict detection, and Locked Demo Mode.

Effective date: September 5, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and SmoothWeek, operated by independent developer Zsolt Magyar ("SmoothWeek," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, accessing, or using SmoothWeek, you agree to these Terms and Apple’s applicable App Store terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Eligibility and your responsibility

You must be legally able to enter this agreement. If you use SmoothWeek for a business or organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind it. You are responsible for the accuracy and lawful collection of client information you enter, for securing your device and backups, and for complying with professional, tax, consumer, communications, recordkeeping, and privacy obligations that apply to your work.

2. SmoothWeek Free and Pro

SmoothWeek Free supports up to five available client records. SmoothWeek Pro supports unlimited clients and unlocks Pro functionality while a verified entitlement remains active. Pro is offered as monthly and yearly auto-renewable subscriptions. Current localized prices, periods, and any eligible introductory offer are shown by Apple in the app before purchase.

An introductory one-month free trial is available only when Apple confirms that you are eligible. Eligibility is generally determined across the SmoothWeek Pro subscription group, and an offer displayed for one plan does not promise eligibility for another. Promotional or Offer Code access may have separate duration and renewal terms shown by Apple.

3. Apple billing, renewal, and cancellation

Apple processes payment and manages subscriptions. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Unless Apple states that an offer is non-renewing, a subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple may charge the renewal within 24 hours before that period ends. Manage or cancel through your Apple subscription settings.

SmoothWeek does not receive or control your full payment credentials, Apple’s eligibility decisions, refunds, billing recovery, or storefront pricing. Prices and taxes may differ by country or storefront. Deleting SmoothWeek, deleting local data, or not using the app does not cancel a subscription.

4. Effect of Pro Expiration

If a SmoothWeek Pro subscription, free trial, or non-renewing promotional entitlement truly ends, SmoothWeek enters Locked Demo Mode. This is a read-only state, not a destructive downgrade.

Every existing client, past and future session, package, payment-status record, note, setting, and history record remains visible. Subscription expiration, revocation, or billing retry outside an applicable grace period does not delete, archive, or rewrite workspace data, including records above the initial five-client Free limit.

Locked Demo Mode blocks business-data changes, including creating, editing, moving, copying, completing, deleting, closing, or changing payment and package status. Renew Pro, Restore Purchases, Manage Subscription, legal and privacy screens, and Erase All Data remain available.

During an applicable Apple Billing Grace Period, verified Pro access and editing remain active. Restoring or purchasing Pro again returns the same retained workspace to editable Pro access after Apple or the subscription provider verifies the entitlement.

Deleting SmoothWeek, using Erase All Data, or not using the app does not cancel an Apple subscription.

5. Local-first data, private iCloud backup, and erasure

Core workspace data is stored locally first. When iCloud is available, SmoothWeek automatically stores a versioned backup in the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple Account and can restore it after reinstalling on an eligible device. SmoothWeek does not provide a separate app account, multi-user database, or real-time collaboration service.

Backup availability depends on Apple’s iCloud service, your Apple Account, device settings, storage, network access, and platform behavior, so restoration cannot be guaranteed in every circumstance. Erase All Data deletes the local workspace and requests deletion of SmoothWeek’s private cloud backup; it does not cancel an Apple subscription. You should maintain any records your profession or law requires outside SmoothWeek. See the Privacy Policy for the data categories and external services involved.

6. Scheduling, Calendar conflicts, reminders, and communication drafts

If you enable Calendar conflict detection and grant Apple’s calendar permission, SmoothWeek reads timed events only from the calendars you select to warn about possible overlaps. It does not create, edit, or delete Apple Calendar events, ignores all-day events for conflict purposes, and lets you choose another time or schedule anyway. Calendar conflict detection, recurrence, copy tools, schedules, notifications, and communication drafts are aids, not guarantees. You must review dates, times, recipients, wording, availability, and any conflicts before relying on or sending information. SmoothWeek prepares drafts but does not send messages automatically. Third-party messaging, email, and operating-system behavior are outside our control.

7. Financial tracking disclaimer

SmoothWeek records statuses, expected amounts, and prepaid-package balances for your convenience. It is not an invoicing or accounting service, bank, payment processor, card processor, escrow provider, tax adviser, financial adviser, or money-transfer service. It does not charge clients, collect funds, settle transactions, or guarantee that a record is accurate, legally sufficient, collectible, or suitable for tax reporting. You remain responsible for invoices, receipts, accounting, taxes, refunds, and payment disputes.

8. Acceptable use

You may use SmoothWeek only lawfully and in accordance with these Terms. You must not misuse the app; interfere with security or operation; reverse engineer it except where law expressly permits; distribute malware; violate another person’s privacy or intellectual-property rights; use the app to harass, deceive, or unlawfully contact anyone; or attempt unauthorized access to services or data. You must have a valid basis to store and use client information and to contact each recipient.

9. Ownership and license

SmoothWeek, its design, software, branding, documentation, and original content are owned by the developer or licensors and protected by intellectual-property law. Subject to these Terms and Apple’s rules, you receive a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple-branded devices associated with your Apple Account. You retain rights in information you lawfully enter.

10. Third-party services

The app may interact with Apple, RevenueCat, PostHog (only after analytics consent), and apps you choose for sharing. Their availability and terms are separate. Apple is not responsible for maintenance or support beyond obligations imposed by law, and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms to the extent required for an App Store end-user license. Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies where not displaced by valid custom terms.

11. Availability, changes, and termination

We may maintain, update, change, suspend, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, platform changes, or product operation. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may restrict or terminate access for material violation of these Terms, misuse, or legal necessity. Termination does not cancel an Apple subscription; you must cancel through Apple. Sections that by nature should survive—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms—will survive.

12. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SmoothWeek is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, data recovery, scheduling accuracy, financial accuracy, or suitability for regulated professional records. Nothing in these Terms excludes non-waivable consumer guarantees or other rights you have under applicable law.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SmoothWeek and its developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, clients, opportunities, or data; missed appointments or communications; or reliance on payment-status records. Where liability cannot be excluded, total aggregate liability relating to the app will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for SmoothWeek during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD 50. These limits do not apply where prohibited, including liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the developer’s provision of the service, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that mandatory consumer protections and jurisdiction rights in your country of residence remain unaffected. Before filing a claim, please contact us and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve it informally. You may bring claims in any court or forum that has jurisdiction under applicable law.

15. Changes, severability, and contact

We may update these Terms prospectively. Material changes will be communicated when required. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, Apple’s applicable terms, and the purchase terms shown by Apple form the agreement for your use of SmoothWeek.
